दूसरे नैनीताल फ़िल्म फेस्टिवल की नयी तारीखें
प्रिय मित्रों,
पिछले दिनों उत्तराखंड में लगातार बारिश और भूस्खलन के कारण जान माल का बहुत नुकसान हुआ है। इसे देखते हुए हमने अपना फ़िल्म उत्सव एक महीने टालकर अब 29 से 31 अकतूबर करने का निश्चय किया है। जल्द ही इस ब्लॉग पर फ़िल्म फेस्टिवल का पूरा शिड्यूल प्रकाशित किया जाएगा। इच्छुक सिने प्रेमी दर्शकों से अनुरोध है कि नैनीताल पहुंचकर प्रतिरोध के सिनेमा अभियान को सफल बनाएँ। इस समय नैनीताल में टूरिस्टों का खासा जमावड़ा रहता है इसलिए अपने रहने का इंतज़ाम एडवांस में कर लें।

11.20 - 12.50 pm Screening CHUTKAN KI MAHABARAT 90 minute Directed by Sankalp Meshram A Nautanki team (a Musical folk theatre) sets up camp in a village and the whole village is abuzz with excitement and the ten year old boy Chutkan is no exception to enjoy the whole myth of Pandavas & Kauravas of Mahabharat.
12.50 -1.05 pm Felicitation and interaction with Sankalp Meshram 15 minute Agog with images of Nautanki, Chutkan sees a dream in which Shakuni Mama & Duryodhana have a change of heart after deceitfully winning against Yudhistir at the game of chausar. They confess to their villainy and relinquish all claims to the kingdom. The great Mahabharata ends even before it’s begun.

2.20- 3 pm Screening VOICES FROM BALIAPAL 40 minute Voices from Baliapal is a film about a movement of 70,000 farmers and fishermen in Orissa, Eastern India, against the Indian Government's efforts to evict them from their land to set up a testing range for missiles. The voices of the local people, their myths, their songs about their motherland and their parodies of national politicians are used in the film to depict the ideas that have sustained the four-and half year long struggle.
