This is the plot of 3rd wave of Covid19 in Tamilnadu which appears to be on downhill of the Bell shaped curve. Today Chennai recorded about 600 cases. which was about 2000 a week back. The same trend is continuing in Tamilandu as well as in India. Hope this trend continues. Additional information is that the recent sero-survey has shown that 80% people have antibodies as a result of vaccination as well as due to exposure. The 3rd wave is associated mostly to the omicron variant of the covid19.
As part of the covid-appropriate behaviour people are strictly keep facemask. The open air theater is not yet open. The first out of city ravel is coming up tomorrow for the national exam.

P.S. Jan 6, 2024: This is just to add in 2024 (even after 3 years) there is another wave (one could call it nth wave) of COVID19 all over the world. However, there is no panic. Administration is asking people not to worry at all. We do not see people wearing masks now. The events are crowded as usual, meetings in closed auditorium etc goes without any fuss. Rarely we can see one out of 1000 person wearing a mask. Hospitals are taking appropriate precautions and one can see staff wearing masks.
